One of the
largest multi-functional conference and cultural centers in the world
is the National Palace of Culture or the NDK.
It
was opened in 1981 in celebration of Bulgaria’s
1300th
anniversary. It is known
for its unique architecture, internally
the building exhibits a unified style with
an octagonal motif and heavy, dark colors.

It
is also known for its diverse events,
including concerts, art exhibitions, shows,
and conferences. It has an area of 123,000
sqm on eight floors and three underground levels.
One
of the best places to chill out is the surrounding park, with
fountains and sculptures. Take a leisurely stroll
around and enjoy a peaceful
escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Sofia's University "St.
Kliment Ohridski" is the oldest institution of higher
education in Bulgaria, founded on 1st of October in 1888.
It is a
public, research university, it has 16 faculties and over of 21,000
students receive their education. It constructed with the financial
support of the brothers Evlogi and Hristo Georgiev, whose sculptures
are now featured on its facade.

We
enjoyed our coffee break at Cakey Bakey, a cafeteria with excellent
sweets and great coffee that we definitely recommend!
We
returned home happy because we managed to finish another successful trip and full of
beautiful images, memories and experiences!
